There’s nothing more all-American than walking brick sidewalks in a historic small town in the autumn. Middleburg, Virginia is straight out of a Hallmark movie. I was so hopeful when Luis and Chesney chose to do a fall Middleburg engagement session. You’ll see in the photos below that this quaint little town truly did not disappoint.

And neither did Luis and Chesney! For starters, their engagement outfits were perfection for a classic fall session. And their posing skills easily surfaced after only a few minutes of teaching. Even in the unseasonably warm weather, we made some fall engagement photo dreams come true.

Kevin and I especially enjoyed photographing this session because of how we met the happy couple. This past summer, we attended a “Newlyweds & Nearlyweds” game night at our church. Luis, Chesney, Kevin and I were the earliest arrivers. So we battled it out in Round-the-World style ping pong while the other couples arrived. This random meet must’ve destined us to be friends. Months later Chesney emailed me to inquire for their wedding, not realizing I was the girl she met at our game night! We eventually put two and two together, and both realized this was the perfect fit.

Since then, it’s been such a joy to get to know Luis and Chesney better – not only as an ENP Couple but also as friends. The commonalities kept popping up in conversations. Luis and Chesney each live in apartments within a short walking distance from our apartment! So I foresee plenty of brunch dates in our near future.

We love photographing weddings for friends, but there’s just something sweet about building a friendship while serving a couple as a new client. Kevin and I cannot wait to capture their special day in D.C. in March 2024. In the meantime, enjoy their stunning fall Middleburg engagement session!
