Surrounded by all their soccer teammates and family, Kimmie and Hunter’s Poplar Springs Manor wedding was elegant and heartwarming. These two planned an event that seemed to avoid all the usual timeline falls and day-of stress. Perhaps it was due to both the bride and groom’s laid-back, down for anything demeanor. Or it was the help of their planners and planning assistants. Whatever it was, it was one of the easiest events to photograph of 2022.
Poplar Springs Manor was such a romantic setting for their special day! The stony estate featured rustic elements like wooden beams and a charming arched front door. But as you venture inside to the back, you’re greeted with some of the most beautiful light and tall windows inside the ballroom. The property features an outdoor patio, where the couple originally planned to hold their ceremony. Rainy predictions moved the ceremony and reception to that glistening white ballroom. It was no short change, either. You’ll see why as you scroll down.
We did not see any rain, though. Which helped ensure some beautiful portraits for Kimmie and Hunter. We had very limited daylight to work with, but both were easy to model as we moved swiftly through bridal party portraits, newlywed photos, and then finally family formals. The sun even peaked through at the final moment to cast a lemon-yellow glow against Kimmie’s blonde updo.
One more shoutout I MUST mention — the florals were incredible! J Morris Flowers is a floral shop in northern Virginia, based in Leesburg, that I’ve worked with before, and I’m always so impressed. I highly recommend their work to all my brides. They won’t disappoint!
As you glance at these highlights, you’ll quickly understand why I have no complaints about how the day went. Everything was beautiful. Everyone was warm and friendly. The vendor team was astounding at their service of both the couple and each other. And of course, as the second shooter to Gracie Withers Photography, I had a great time working with a friend. I hope you enjoy looking through Hunter and Kimmie’s Poplar Springs Manor wedding as much as I enjoyed capturing it!
