If I’m being honest with you, my readers, I am not always walking into a wedding day feeling inspired. Shocking I know! 😉 It can be pretty easy to be numb to the gorgeous details when you’re surrounded by it week after week. But what brings me back to life is working with a couple who makes a wedding day so uniquely theirs. Because ultimately the couple is celebrating the start of something rather than a culmination of other things. That’s exactly what Chris and Angie did at their Congressional Country Club wedding.
I tell my couples all the time: “Plan more for your marriage than for your wedding.” A wedding day is 24 hours, but marriage is a lifetime. Chris and Angie so beautifully kept their wedding focused on their vision. It flawlessly represented the blend of cultures, family, and friends that came together as these two tied the knot.
My favorite moments from C & A’s Congressional Country Club Wedding:
- Their guests’ fashion! I love that wedding guests are showing up in their best dresses lately, but Angie and Chris’ friends looked like they stepped out of a magazine!
- Angie’s beautiful veil cape! What a great alternative if you don’t want to pin a veil into your hairdo!
- Angie’s outfit change. She wore a traditional red Cheongsam for her reception, honoring her family heritage on her special day.
- Chris and his sweet groomsmen. These guys kept checking in on me to make sure I’ve eaten, had water, etc. They were so accommodating and welcoming!
I just loved shooting this wedding as Stacie Marshall‘s second shooter. I can’t wait to work with her again!
