Portraits // Georgetown Pregnancy Announcement

Uncategorized

Time for a portfolio post! This session was so sweet and fun for me. The mama-to-be is Lucy, my coworker and office-mate. We’ve been working together for just over a year at White House Writers Group as  marketing associates. Then we both got promoted to directors! Shortly after our promotions, she announced that she and her sweet husband Nick were expecting.

As a gift to them to celebrate their new addition, I jumped at the opportunity to give them an announcement session. Knowing Lucy and Nick, I was really excited to work with them. I just knew they’d be easy to work with and extremely photogenic. And I was SO RIGHT!!

It was a super rainy and chilly day in Georgetown on the day they wanted to shoot. But that didn’t stop us from getting precious images. We held the session right in the courtyard outside our office building on Thomas Jefferson St NW. There were just enough covered arches to keep them out of the rain (and me too… mostly). Despite the weather, you’d never guess by these images that it was a high of 50 degrees and pouring!

Now that they’ve announced their coming bundle on social media, I am so excited to say that baby van Schaijik is coming September 2019! Congratulations Lucy and Nick! Now to find out the gender 😉 Four more weeks to go!

If you’re expecting, contact me for an announcement / gender reveal shoot! These are fun 45 min – 1 hour sessions, and make for perfect social media announcement pics. OR if you’re already celebrating with all of your friends and family, ask me about my maternity, fresh 48, and newborn packages. I would love to work with you and capture these precious moments to document this new chapter in your life.
