Introducing VA Wedding Videographer Kyle of Guy in the Sky LLC

I absolutely believe in the mantra “community over competition.” Without other wedding vendors adopting this philosophy, my business would never exist. The support of like-minded wedding professionals and photographers is what helped launch my business this year. So I want to give back!

I am going to be highlighting a local wedding vendor and professional. I’ve interviewed a number of local vendors about their business and what they love most about serving couples in this area.

Choosing the right vendors can be the “make or break” of your wedding day. My hope is to provide you and your fiancé with a resource that helps you build your wedding day dream team!

I’d like to introduce you to Kyle Burnopp, a VA wedding videographer and owner of Guy in the Sky LLC.

Let’s get to know Kyle!

Start by introducing yourself! Tell us your name, business name, what you do, where you’re located, and who you serve!

Kyle Burnopp, Richmond wedding videographer and owner of Guy in the Sky LLC

HEY YALL!! My name is Kyle Burnopp. I’m 23 years young and based out of King William, Virginia (about 20 minutes from Richmond). I own a small video production company called Guy In The Sky. The name originated from the fact when I first started I was solely a drone operator and now I do full video production. I just married my best friend back on October 5, 2019! We have been together for 4 years and just bought our first house right before the wedding! We provide all the video needs you may have for any wedding or event and even small business!

How long have you been in business?

I have been in business for 2 1/2 years now and hoping for many more years to come!

What drew you to start a business in this industry / service?

It’s kind of crazy how I started in this industry. I’m a huge football fan and play fantasy football every year. Well, 2 1/2 years ago I won my league and decided to buy a drone. I quickly realized the potentials there were with it. As I flew more and more, I started finding a passion for filming. So then I introduced ground cameras and audio into my services. It wasn’t until my first wedding when I found my true passion. People able to make new friends and share their special moments with them, seeing all the love and connections that go on in a wedding. That’s when I knew weddings were my passion!

Describe your services. What do you offer brides/grooms?

We don’t just provide a wedding video, we provide an investment in your memories. We are there to not just point a camera and hit record but to capture your story and tell it in best possible way, that you can still enjoy many years to come!

What is one unique thing about your business that is different from your competitors?

I believe every one provides a unique trait for each client they serve, because no two people are exactly the same. What I like to think my best trait is, connecting. It’s not just another business move for me, but it’s more of getting to connect with new people and listening to their stories.

What is one piece of advice you would offer a newly engaged couple as they plan their wedding?

One piece of advice I’d give to couples starting to plan their wedding is to just breathe. It gets hectic and stressful, but don’t let it ruin the fun that’s in it. Enjoy all the phone calls with your potential vendors; explore all the ideas you have. Most importantly stay true to you!

Tell us about one of your favorite projects you’ve done as a vendor!

One of my favorite weddings by far was probably the Meeter Wedding. It was an elegant theme with a dash of rustic. The bride was an ER nurse and the groom was a firefighter. They met at 2am when he was bringing a patient in, and she was eyeballing his chocolate milk. So he went and got her one. They ended up doing their grand exit in a fire truck!

If you were planning a wedding, what is one thing you would discuss with a vendor like you and why?

When talking with your videographer, one thing I would definitely recommend discussing is audio and lighting. These two things can turn an ok film into an amazing one!

Share one goal you have for your business right now.

A current goal of mine for 2020: I would love to connect with 20 couples and film their big day!

If you’re looking for a videographer who cares about you and your vision we’d love to chat with you!
