Introducing Tiffany of Lavish Creations by Tiffany Weddings & Events (VA, MD, and DC Wedding Planner)

I absolutely believe in the mantra “community over competition”. Without other wedding vendors adopting this philosophy, my business would never exist. The support of like-minded wedding professionals and photographers is what helped launch my business this year. I want to give back!

Every week, I am going to be highlighting a local wedding vendor and professional. I’ve interviewed a number of local vendors about their business and what they love most about serving couples.

Choosing the right vendors can be the make or break of your wedding day. My hope is to provide you and your fiancé with a resource that helps you build your wedding day dream team!

You guys!! This series has been so fun for me. I am so happy to be able to introduce yet another talented wedding vendor to you.

Below is my interview with Tiffany Richardson, creative director and CEO of Lavish Creations by Tiffany Weddings & Events (DC Wedding Planner). This girl and her team does some really impressive work!

She has been featured on Zola, Muna Luchi Bride, and Equally Wed! I’m excited to let you meet her…so let’s jump in to the interview!!

Start by introducing yourself! Tell us your name, business name, what you do, where you’re located, and who you serve!

Hey ya’ll! I’m Tiffany, the creative director and CEO of Lavish Creations by Tiffany Weddings & Events. We plan any event you can imagine, from corporate to weddings and social events. However, weddings are definitely our specialty! We’re located in the Washington, D.C. area, servings clients in D.C., MD, VA, and beyond

How long have you been in business?

I’ve been in the wedding industry coming up on 5 years this January.

Describe your services… what do you offer brides/grooms?

We currently offer Month-of Coordination, Partial Planning and Full Service Planning. We also offer floral and rental services.

What drew you to start a business in this industry / service?

Having and planning my own wedding is what drew me to the industry. Planning my own wedding and battling all the obstacles that a bride does during the planning process is what drew me to wanting to open up my own business and serve other brides who are in need of the support that I didn’t have.

What is one unique thing about your business that is different from your competitors?

Our company is really big on serving our clients and giving back to the community. I am very big on philanthropy, so we give back 10% of our proceeds when booking a client. We allow them to choose whichever charity their heart desires, and if they don’t have one in mind we will choose from either St. Jude or The Lupus Foundation of America.

What is one piece of advice you would offer a newly engaged couple as they plan their wedding?

DON’T HIRE FAMILY & FRIENDS TO BE YOUR WEDDING VENDORS! Lol, no seriously, they want to be a part of your wedding day as well. But if a Full Planner isn’t in your budget, then opt for a Month-of Coordinator or a strategy at the very least, so that you will have an idea of what you’re up against on one of the most important days of your life!

Enjoy the process! The day goes by so fast, you blink and the wedding is over. Be in the moment and enjoy every single moment of your family and friends on your joyous occasion. If I had to choose any vendor it would definitely have to be a planner. They make everything come together and ensure that you are left with unforgettable memories.

Tell us about one of your favorite projects you’ve done as a vendor!

One of my favorite projects that I really enjoyed was actually just a couple of months ago! We had a fraternity and sorority wedding and it was absolutely amazing.

Share one goal you have for your business right now.

One of my business goals is to connect and collaborate with more vendors to ensure my clients have the best possible wedding experience here at LC!

Share one of your most recent wins from a past project or for a past client!

We recently got published in Muna Luchi Bride Magazine!! It was so exciting and one of my 2018 goals!!!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Every event is uniquely different and special in it’s own way!

Tiffany, I absolutely love what you are doing!

Isn’t it amazing to see wedding vendors have such purpose-filled businesses? As a bride, I know it must feel so great to know that your wedding day investment in a planner is also helping to benefit such amazing charities. This is a great way to make something really meaningful happen with your business profits! Great job, Tiffany.
